AJMER: Sachin Pilot told his supporters to be ready for the "next step" during his Jan Sangharsh Yatra on Thursday, local Congress leaders here said. "Pilot had not disclosed his further plan but said it will be something big," said a local Congress leader.
Almost every Congress leader here in the Pilot camp came out openly in support of the yatra. "Previously we had instructions that no Congress symbol or flag or any slogan for Gandhis should be in the yatra, and now we have been asked to remain ready for the next step," said another Pilot supporter.
Even the songs that were played at the yatra urged readiness.

"Tez hai tapish magar, tum imtehan ke liye taiyar ho [the sun is hot but you have to be ready for the exam]."
Local leaders said that if Pilot forms a new party, they will resign from the Congress and join him. Sources said that Pilot was confident of a grand show in Ajmer and will gather support as the yatra goes on. "Even Mahendra Singh Ralawata, the Congress candidate from Ajmer North in the last assembly elections, organised a mass gathering in his farmhouse situated on the Jaipur highway, said a Congress source.
"Pilot wants to prove his acceptance in Rajasthan," added a Pilot supporter.
Besides Gujjar support, Pilot received a warm welcome from Jats in Kishangarh. Even prominent Tonk Congress leader and Tonk Nagar Parishad chairman Ali Ahmad joined the yatra.
Only one slogan was heard in the rally: "Sachin Pilot zindabad, hum tumhare saath hain (May Sachin Pilot be victorious, we are with you)". With no senior Congress leader accompanying the former deputy chief minister at this rally, it was a one-man show of strength.
Most of the local Congress leaders of Ajmer, including former district committee members, were seen with Pilot at this rally. Both the defeated Congress candidates of Ajmer North and Ajmer South - Mahendra Singh Ralawata and Hemant Bhati - were on stage with the Congress MLA from Tonk.
